The first fower bars o this tune are a that I can mine o a wee number I pit thegithir wi Allie Bremner fae Banff. We wrote the original tune in the simmer o 1963. The first four bars of this piece are all that I can remember of a tune I composed with Alaister Bremner of Banff to mark the visit, in 1963, of Dr W Douglas Simpson to the archaeological excavations near Pennan. He was a famous antiquarian and a wise man. He died many years ago.
